Lotus

Nice Paintings. Series Lotus

In 2005 I lived again in the South of France, this time in Nice, here began a change, it was a

new way of implementation. The daily sight of the Mediterranean, the stony beach without any vegetation,

the sky, let me divide the picture into three areas. It was like a spread on the

Horizontal to infinity. The result was the series "Nice paintings" (peintures niçoises). They connect 

now not only North and South, but also East and West.

A horizontal orientation always triggers the direct association of a landscape. To shape it so that it continues and meets in infinity is the concern of the new Series Lotus .

Lotus is the symbol of spiritual knowledge. In Eastern philosophy Lotus stands for the feminine element: the earth, indicated by the horizontal in the picture.

In Kandinsky's sense, I use colours as the language of the soul. They have no form but

a direct access to the collective subconscious.

They fullfill our hope of being limitless.
