Camargue I, 2005
Camargue is an Hommage to Vincent van Gogh. In Arles and the surrounding green and wetland Camargue, the delta of the river Rhone, van Gogh discovered the light of the Provence.
I had discovered van Goghs Provence in London at the National Gallery. I was 16 years old. The painting made a major impression on me. I remained in front of the painting for a very long time.
A few years later with 19 I discovered the light of the Provence in Lauris, Luberon. I felt the whole landscape vibrating with the vision of van Gogh. I saw van Gogh everywhere.
Painting. A means of expressing the mind in color. A medium to show the
flow of time and emotions. A way to stimulate the vision of the unknown. A
journey to take in the everyday. A path to walk forever.
This painting was painted in Nice, South East of France.
