About Artist ___________________________________________________________________-
Mina Ham (Born in Seoul, Korea)
Mina Ham was growing up in the coastal village. She enjoyed watching the scenery, taking off her glasses. The colors, shapes and lights that she was watching back then has greatly affected her works. When she took off the glasses the shapes looked totally blurred. The sea and trees were blurred as they were one. People walking the beach and lights were beautifully dim. It was not realistic, but just beautiful, like dreams.
The shapes and actions in her art work are smudged and all the details will be sensed by viewers’ imagination and emotion. She want viewers to be immersed in emotion and believe that blurred shapes and instant emotion make unexpected beauty. The reason why she painted people a lot comes from her memory of childhood.
His work shows us very originative concepts with the series of “Memory of unconsciousness”. All malerisch elements like colors, lines, and faces are connected like an organism under the frame of memory.
