My inspiration for Modern Art One is the idea of a central pulse of energy that radiates out to embrace all. The image is made up of several layers of translucent paint, and blocks that are more opaque. I switched back and forth from drawing lines to filling in shapes with a brush, creating an interlocking playful mesh that draws the eye into its maze.
